Author's Notes: I kind of sat on this story for a while. Life just sort of happened, I guess. The first two chapters of this work were outlined and written predominately over the 2024-to-2025 transition at the end of December and start of January. When I initially drew up the outline for this story it ended about half way into the second chapter. I had a few lingering scenes of things I wanted to do that I couldn't fit into that one-shot format, such as the entity tapping into Dave's mind, so in order to include that stuff I rearranged the flow of the story and broke it into two chapters... but then started feeling like a two-chapter thing isn't "long enough". I could've just combined that into one, but then it would be one massively long story and I felt like people wouldn't want to stick around for that. To fix this I just rearranged the scenes a second time and included even more stuff so that it would stretch into three chapters instead of two and I'd have a neat little trilogy of sorts.

I feel like I've kinda been spinning my tires in a general sense with all the stories I've posted. I guess I've just been going through my archives and working on all sorts of things to see what sticks, but so far the first two chapters of this story have been quite well received. I hope that this third one caps things off nicely. This is the first story I've posted as Viscosisaurus that was meant to be more than just a one-and-done affair. Here in the final stretch of this story there's more of that mind-melding stuff and further exploration of the boundaries that come with it. I could really do with not spinning so many plates all at once. I'm just invigorated to do this again after nearly a decade of absence, I suppose.
