Viscosisaurus (2025) ![]() (Click to enlarge.) Alternate renders: External links: Been quite busy as of late, including bouts of being in and out of sickness as well. I started this drawing at the very beginning of this month but I only finished it recently. This is another attempt at making a base picture with some variants. This is Viscosisaurus being his usual nefarious self, leaking out of an industrial ventilation system that you didn't know was there. Just in case you assumed he was friendly, as you stand there motionlessly looking at him, he extends several tentacles from his back. Sure, he's "friendly" I suppose, just not in the manner you might define it. This is "my take" on the commissioned piece "You Never Saw It Coming", a drawing that formed the entire idea behind my recent three-part story In the Valley of the Drums. The monster in the story is technically not Viscosisaurus, because I didn't want to put myself in my own stories and I want Visco to just be my avatar, but the creature known as "The Entity" in that story is for the most part a stand-in for him. If you want to see what those tentacles can do, you should go read that story. The base version of this piece is the one without visible genitalia, since technically he doesn't actually have any and just forms it when he "needs it" kind of like the tentacles. Since he has no definite look regarding what he's packing I did two erect versions, one with and one without balls. Something for everyone I guess. Overall I'm happy with how this came out I guess. Still not good with hands (that's why his left one is hiding). I feel like I made his torso maybe a little too tall? I also drew and re-drew his face about a dozen times and was never really 100% happy with it but this is the best take I got. Also not sure if I am married to the digitigrade legs, though I did those to try and further enhance the look of his raptor-style feet. |
